About me

Hello — I'm Jamesina

PhD, MSc, BACP Accredited · Pronoun: she/her. An experienced BACP-accredited counsellor and a lecturer in counselling — with a particular interest in the therapeutic relationship, and in working with adults and couples.

Soft still life: open journal, beeswax candle and dried lavender

17 years of practice. Thousands of conversations. One consistent truth over and over again: therapy can be life-changing.

I’ll offer a safe, confidential, trusting and respectful space for you to explore what matters most to you — and an approach that is tailored to your unique needs. When people feel safe and respected, they can often speak their truth more openly. This supports growth and change, and how that looks or what that means is unique for every client.

I’ll draw on a range of theories and use the professional, therapeutic relationship to support your growth and change. My practice is depth-informed — drawing from my PhD research, which focused on the therapeutic relationship as one of the most important factors in bringing about positive change.

Alongside my private practice, I lecture in counselling from Certificate (Level 4) up to Postgraduate (Level 7). Passing on clinical knowledge and insight to students and practitioners enriches my own work, keeping it sharp, reflective and current.

Counselling isn’t just about problems — it’s about creating space to reconnect with yourself and others, and to cultivate resilience and insight.
